"On this, the second Halloween episode of The Flop House, we discuss The Happening—a film that somehow doesn't even manage to live up to its name."

Official Show Notes[]

"It's the second of our annual SHOCKTOBER shows, focusing on lousy horror films, and it's a doozy! Mark Wahlberg unleashes all his whispery energy on the modern master of "Hey Jackass, betcha didn't see that one coming!" M. Night Shyamalan, and his eco-horror-tale The Happening. Meanwhile, Elliott explains his failed cartoon-writing career, Stuart crosses the sexual line, and Dan opens a pun Pandora's box he can't close."

An apocalyptic threat to humanity arrives out of the clear blue sky with a series of violent, inexplicable deaths spreading across the country. Soon it becomes clear that no one is safe.

  • M. Night Shyamalan just makes terrible movies, like abysmal movies. And he shouldn't make movies anymore.
           —Stuart @45:35
Dan: It was less like The Happening and more like The Nappening.
Elliott: Oh, I thought you were going to say The Crappening.
