The Flop House Wiki

Dan: On this episode we discuss "Between Worlds"
Stuart: The #1 search result for, “Stop! You’re my stepdaughter! And you’re a ghost!” [Dan laughs.]

Official Show Notes[]

It’s Cagemas in July! That cherished Flop House tradition that Dan totally forgot about for the past couple of years. But he remembered this time! Lay off! Anyway, the wonderful Erin Foley-Chan (supervising producer of The Big Fib on Disney+) joins us to discuss the weird-ass supernatural sex thriller Between Worlds. Meanwhile, Dan has done some sex scene research, Erin offers a producer’s perspective, Stuart’s old comics collaborator makes a surprise appearance, and Elliott makes “kid flashback” the two funniest words in the English language.

Movie Summary[]

Joe meets a mother who can contact spirits when suffocating. Her daughter is dying when Joe helps the mother spiritually contact the daughter and save her. Unfortunately, the spirit in the daughter's body is now that of Joe's dead wife.

The story follows Joe, a down-on-his-luck truck driver haunted by the memory of his deceased wife and child. He meets Julie, a spiritually gifted woman who enlists Joe in a desperate effort to find the lost soul of her comatose daughter, Billie. But the spirit of Joe's dead wife Mary proves stronger, possessing the young woman's body while intending to settle her unfinished business with the living.

Stuart: I feel like talking about the movie was more fun—uh, I had more fun talking about it than I kind of did watching it? ‘Cause, as I said, I was watching it by myself. And I’m like, “No! No! Don’t do this!” [Erin laughs.]
Elliott: I think watching it with a group would be a—would be a little better. Yeah. With the right group. Like, not with your parents.
