Story[]

Dante Graham is a hip-hop mogul, but he was a breaker; now he wants nothing more than to see an American team win the Battle of the Year, an international b-boy tournament. Dante picks former dancer Jason Blake, a boozy, widowed basketball coach, to select, then train a worthy team. With just three months to whip a crew of 13 headstrong guys into a cohesive unit, Blake, his assistant and a choreographer have a daunting job ahead of them.

Quotes[]

Dan: I'm like how people are like, "Oh, you know who's really good? Those old — the really old blues magicians." And then you listen to it, and you're like, "This is not — I don't like this."
Stuart: Yeah, blues magicians are the weirdest ones 'cause they're really sad when they're doing it.
Dan: (laughing) yep.
Stuart: They'll pull out — instead of pulling a rabbit out of the hat, they'll pull out like a picture frame of their ex wife or something. Yeah, b-blues magicians.
Hallie: Wait did you say — ? I was confused — I was imagining blues magicians b-boy —
Stuart: — Sometimes Dan just says completely weird words, Hallie. The trick is you gotta latch onto 'em and make fun of him.
Hallie: I want to meet the renaissance man that's —
Stuart: — B-Boy, Magician and Blues Musician. It's a real — what they call in the business a triple threat.
Hallie: I know you're out there.
Stuart: Sure. Send your letter to theFlopHousePodcast@internet.gov

Stinger[]

Stuart: Hanging out with a baby or something?
Hallie: I think he's baby-sitting — I dunno?
Stuart: He wrote an email?
Hallie: He needed a second job.
Stuart: He got a big promotion to babysitter of his own baby.
Hallie: He's head babysitter.
Dan: Mm hmm.
Stuart: Meaning he sits on the head of a baby and... I don't know how to finish this joke.
Dan: Gross.
